He then furthered to the University of Lagos where he acquired his master’s degree in Mass Communication in 1981. After this, he was sent to the United Kingdom to read an advanced TV course which was completed in 1982. Finally, the renowned broadcaster went back to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria to obtain his doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Development Communication.
When did Danladi Bako Start Broadcasting?
Danladi started his broadcasting career at a very young age, specifically at 16 years of age.
Before getting admission into the University at age 16, he was assigned a role in the Nigerian broadcasting service where he worked as a reporter and announcer at the radio Nigeria Sokoto chapter. It was at that time when he was assigned this role that he showed a great quality of a good broadcaster which made the broadcasting Company come looking for him after his youth service (NYSC). Danladi was employed as a full broadcaster in 1988 at the age of 22 years.
After some years of working for the Nigerian television authority (NTA) as a full-time broadcaster, writer, and producer, they transferred him to the NTA Headquarters in December 1983 as a Grade Level 12 officer. He was transferred to the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, in 1994, where he worked as an assistant director of the Agency for another 5 years before he was appointed as the director general of the agency in 1999 due to the level of his professionality in the industry.

Danladi did not retire from the Broadcasting service but rather he resigned after 14 years in the service as the director general. He resigned in December 2002.

In 2003 he contested for the representative of the Sokoto Central Senatorial District seat under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP. Danladi has been a commissioner in Sokoto for years. He was the appointed chairman for media/publicity of the late president Yar’adua and Jonathan’s presidential campaign.
In 2022 he came out boldly to say that he is still a loyal member of the all-progressive Congress, APC and he also added that he has nothing to do with the labor party.
