As the H.P.R.O of the Accra Region, she is responsible for managing police-media communications and establishing and maintaining goodwill between the police and its public, including all PR activities within Accra.
Effia Tenge was born and raised in Ghana by her biological parents. As a child, she lived with her family in the federal capital territory of Ghana popularly known as Accra and she also went to schools situated in the same city.
Effia Tenge Elizabeth attended his primary and secondary education in schools located in Accra. After her secondary education she headed to Methodist university college where she acquired a bachelor of art degree (BA) in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General, She graduated in 2012. After her bachelor’s degree, she also acquired a master of art degree (MA) in Conflict Peace & Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center; she did that a few years after acquiring her first degree.
In 2017 she also acquired another master’s degree cert in public relations which happened to be one of her laurels that fetched her, public relations jobs she did the course for a year from mid-2016 to 2017.
Effia is a professional communicator with over a decade of experience in public relations. Experience in public education, media relations, and publishing. Strategic and innovative with a passion for driving organizational change. Ability to execute research-based programs through effective communication. Poised in establishing and maintaining goodwill between organizations and the public.
According to a Ghanaian news media (infogh) Effia Tenge was the head of the Media Monitoring Desk for the Ghana National Police Headquarters where she supervised and analyzed media contents on police media reports. This was before she became the present head of the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command.
As part of her daily PR activities, she sensitizes the public on security-related issues and preventive crimes; conducts research on public perception of police operational activities; writes articles, press releases, speeches, and reports, organizing press conferences and events. DSP Effia Tenge embarks on a series of outreach programs in schools, churches, communities, and business organizations to share basic security information that will sharpen the alertness skills of the public.
She has been in public relations and police service for over 16 years of her life.
Recently Effia Tenge Elizabeth started trending after she announced her resignation from the police service on the 1st of April, 2023. This announcement sparked a different reaction from Ghana netizens. And she made this statement months after she complained bitterly about how the officials are not letting them do their work in the service.
In Tenge’s message to the public after her resignation, she expressed much appreciation to all and sundry who supported her during her time in the service. She hinted that she headed for a different job after her excellent service with the police.
In her message she wrote;
“This is to inform you that I have formally exited from the Ghana Police Service after 18 years of active service…Permit me to use this medium to thank you all, l mean every one of you, for your immeasurable support during my appointment as Public Affairs Officer of this noble profession.
Now she is set for a new job at the parliament house.
