Col Jonathan Chung is a United States-based soldier who was promoted to the command of the 5th Security Force Assistance Brigade at Joint Base Lewis McChord Washington, on Watkins Field on July 1, 2021.
He was born in the year 1946 and he is currently 77 years old as at the time of writing this article in 2023.

He was later assigned to the U.S. Army Pacific 0n April 12th, 2023 by the United States Army after they suspended him. According to the army spokesperson, he was only suspended as the commander until the investigation carried out on him is complete. It was not clear why Chung came under investigation or why he was suspended from command. And He did not immediately respond to a comment request sent via social media. It was later rumouredly made public about the reason why Chung was suspended which was said to be all about the various allegations laid on him for counterproductive and abusive treatment of his subordinates, according to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the case behind the investigation. Military.com was the first to report on the suspension a week during the incident, but at the time, it wasn’t known that Col. Jonathan Chung was removed from his position due to allegations of poor leadership. Jonathan was both loved and loathed by the soldiers who served under him. Some of his former subordinates accuse Chung of being an abrasive leader, while other soldiers describe him as exactly the type of officer the Army needs: unafraid to hold others accountable, even at the risk of his Career.
As of the time of writing this article, his case is still undergoing a serious investigation and the conclusion of the investigation will decide his fate, and position as a high-ranked soldier in the united states army. Now the Army must decide whether Chung’s leadership style is corrosive or motivating.
