Early LIfe
Charleston white was born and raised in Texas, a state in the South Central region of the United States. He was raised by his parents and has lived most of his life in texas and presently still living there today. Growing up as a teenager he spent six and a half years in Giddings State school for the crime of murder. He was sentenced under Texas Determining Sentence (juvenile) law for twelve years. And he was one of the first juveniles in his home county (Tarrant) to be adjudicated for murder. News which was highly publicized during the time it happened.
He hasn’t been to prison nor does he have any felony convictions, as a growing kid, he was heavily active in gangs and became a gang leader. His life is a success story, according to his statement in an interview, he was considered the worst of the worst as a juvenile, based on his behavior while in TYC; but TYC and its staff gave him all the tools necessary in life for me to be productive and succeed in life. He was incarcerated in TYC from 1991 until 1998. Many of his buddies from that era went on to prison on their 18th birthdays and they are just now coming home today. Most of them have spent twenty or more years incarcerated from age thirteen or fourteen, till now.
His generation was considered the generation that impacted the tougher laws on juveniles, “but now we have grown to be men and want to give back to society”, he said. We recognize that we can positively impact the lives of young people with our testimony. When you’re incarcerated at an early age in life, society tends to write you off. I travel throughout the country sharing my knowledge, my qualitative experience, consulting, and sharing my story of redemption in hopes of making a positive impact in the lives of humanity which will be part of my positive record.
Educational Background
Charleston is a well-educated man with multiple degrees. He is currently a Pre Law student at Texas Wesleyan University, a private Methodist university in Fort Worth, Texas. As of the time of writing this article, he has completed 83 credit hours toward his Bachelor’s degree program as a Pre Law student.
