Amanda Azubuike is a London-born US army officer of Nigerian descent and the present brigadier general of the US army. She was also the chief public affairs officer and senior military assistant to the secretary of defense at the Pentagon.
Although Amanda’s real age is yet to be known, her body stature depicts that of a 35 – 45 years old lady.
The General was once known to be part of the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs at the Pentagon’s Community Outreach Division in the US.
Early Life
Amanda Azubuike was born and raised in London, she lived part of her life in London before she left for the United States for her studies. She was born and raised by her father of Nigerian descent and a Zimbabwe mother. Growing up as a child she is very optimistic and enthusiastic about everything she does.
Education
Amanda Azubuike studied at the University of Central Arkansas where she graduated in December 1993 and bagged an undergraduate degree BSc (Hons) in mass communication.
In 1994, she joined the military and passed the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course, becoming an aviator. This was archived even before she became an American citizen.
After that, She graduated from flight school in 1995 and began her career with the 924th Aviation Support Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia.
She was also a graduate of Georgetown University, where she obtained her Master of Professional Studies degree in Public Relations/Corporate Communications.
Career
Amanda’s career kick-started In 1994, when she joined the military and passed the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course, becoming an aviator. Her aviation career work Started in the UH-1H Huey helicopter and transitioned to the RC-12D/H Guardrail (fixed wing). Her aviation work took her from Sinai in Egypt where She received a Military Intelligence Captains Career Course and Fixed Wing Multi-Engine Qualification Course before her deployment with the 3rd Military Intelligence Battalion in South Korea. She served as an aviator for 11 years starting from 1994 to 2005. Her additional experience as an aviator included leading aircraft mechanics and pilots, training, planning, mission validation/certification, logistics, and maintenance operations in support of assigned units.
She attended the Public Affairs Officer Qualification Course and then served in the Coalition Forces Land Component Command in Kuwait for approximately eighteen months.
Amanda has worked with the U.S. Army Central Command, having held the positions of Chief of Media Relations and Public Affairs Operations Officer with their Headquarters in Fort McPherson for 5 years starting from 2006 to 2011.
In 2012 she worked as a communication consultant for the NFL Players Association where she developed a Communication plan for the association as part of her graduate degree from Georgetown University. She worked with the association for only 5 months before she was appointed as the acting director, of the community relations division in the US army where she worked for 6 months before she became a game day Public relations staff in Washington Redskins.
As a game day Public relations staff she worked for only a year and a month starting from April 2012 to December 2013 before she was appointed director of public affairs in U.S Forces Afghanistan where she served from November 2014 to November 2015.
In that same year in 2014, she was also appointed the director of public affairs, 3rd infantry division at fort Stewart where she also served for 2 years and 2 months starting from July 2014 to August 2016. From there, she was the director of Public Affairs at joint Force HQs-National Capital Region/Military District of Washington she was present in the said position from September 2016 to January 2018.
She was made the Chief of Public Affairs at the United States Southern Command in Jan 2018 and then left the position in April 2021 staying for about 3 years and 4 months, after which she was promoted to Chief of Staff/Senior Military Advisor to the Principal Deputy ATSD(PA) Office of the Secretary of Defense in June 2021 at, Washington, District of Columbia, United States, She served for a year and a month before she was promoted to the Deputy Commanding General of the US Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky in July 2022. Five months after being promoted to the rank of Deputy Commanding General she was promoted to the rank of brigadier general of the US army.
